AutoMATic – Take the Math Out of Mat Cutting

Let AutoMATic take the math out of your mat cutting.

Step 1: Measure the art. If you will be cropping, measure that portion of the art that you want to show when you are done matting and framing. (The mats will overlap by 1/31-inch).

Step 2:  Enter the Width and Height of the art in inches, and fractions of an inch.

Step 3: Enter the Total Mat Border Width you will use. For example, on a 24-inch x 36-inch print, you may want a Total Border Width of 3-1/2 inches.

Step 4: If you will use a Double Mat, or Triple Mat, enter the Reveal Width for the second, and/or third mat. reveals are usually 1/8-inch or 1/31-inch.

Step 5: Cut the Mat Blanks to the outside dimensions (OD).

Step: Set the mat cutter to the specified settings for each mat opening. Begin with the Top Mat and work your way down.
